KING HENRY V Comes to Arizona Theatre Co. March 26-29

Arizona Theatre Company is proud to present The Acting Company/Guthrie Theater production of William Shakespeare?s KING HENRY V. Considered by many to Shakespeare?s greatest and most exciting history play, it tells the story of one of England?s most inspiring monarchs and his triumphs in war, politics and love. A touring co-production of two of America?s Tony Award-winning theatre companies, KING HENRY V plays in Phoenix at the Herberger Theater Center for five performances only from March 26 through March 29. It continues its run in Tucson at the Temple of Music and Art for an additional five performances from April 2 through April 5. Arizona Theatre Company?s Season Underwriters are I. Michael and Beth Kasser and the production sponsor of KING HENRY V is Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

MAGNOLIA Takes Root At Goodman Theater 3/14-4/19

Magnolia, Artistic Associate Regina Taylor's world premiere about possibility in the face of seismic social change, takes root at the Goodman this spring, March 14 - April 19, 2009. Directing for the first time at the Goodman, Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro helms a cast of 12 led by Academy Award nominee Annette O'Toole (Smallville, A Mighty Wind, 48 Hours) and Tony Award nominee John Earl Jelks (August Wilson's Radio Golf and Gem of the Ocean) in the leading roles of Lily and Thomas. Tickets to Magnolia are $25 - $70. A complete performance schedule including dates, times and ticket prices appears at the end of this release. Houdyshell Is 'CORALINE' for MCC, Previews Begin 5/7

The New York Times is reporting that, MCC Theater has announced a bit of unconventional casting news for its stage adaptation of the graphic novel by Neil Gaiman. Jayne Houdyshell, 55, who was nominated for a Tony award for her performance in 'Well,' will play the 9-year-old Coraline according to the Times' Arts, Briefly column.

'Wicked' Welcomes Back Kassebaum and Houdyshell

The Broadway musical WICKED will welcome two former cast members back to the blockbuster hit this spring. Beginning Wednesday, May 14, KENDRA KASSEBAUM will return to the role of Glinda the Good Witch and beginning Tuesday, June 17, JAYNE HOUDYSHELL will return to the role of Madame Morrible.
