The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present singer Nicolas King, along with musical director/pianist Mike Renzi, in a concert celebrating the release of their latest recorded collaboration, 'On Another Note.'  The packed house was treated to a performance of swinging standards sung and played by King, Renzi, bass player Alan Bernstein, and Julie Jacobs on drums.

When Liza Minnelli tells showbiz, "Look out… here comes Nicolas King," you know this performer is the real deal. Having toured with Minnelli and appeared in three Broadway shows by the time he was a teenager, King is no stranger to showmanship and storytelling. Now, he has partnered with legendary jazz pianist and music director Mike Renzi to release his new album, ON ANOTHER NOTE, a collection of rich jazz standards that follow the plot of a love story.

There are many great notes that come from the vocal chords of Nicolas King and the fingers of Mike Renzi. They all came together in a blockbuster concert at the Arts Garage in Delray Beach Florida last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

City Theatre adds to its season of contemporary plays and exciting CityEvents, announcing Tamara Tunie: Legends from the 'Burgh. Pittsburgh native and Law & Order: SVU star, Tamara Tunie returns to her roots, performing songs by hometown legends. Her band includes Roger Humphries on drums, Jeff Grubbs on bass, and Max Leake conducting and playing piano. Ms. Tunie, a Tony and Drama Desk Award winner has performed Legends from the 'Burgh on tour and in New York City to packed houses and critical acclaim. Performances are December 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage. Tickets are on sale now.
