Factory Theater to Launch 25th Season with CAPTAIN STEVE'S CARING KINGDOM

The Factory Theater presents the first production of its 25th anniversary season, the world premiere of Captain Steve's Caring Kingdom, playing at the Factory Theater, 1623 W. Howard St., October 27 - December 9. The new play is both written and directed by Company Member Mike Ooi.

The Factory Theater Sets 25th Anniversary Season, Welcomes New Artistic Directors

The Factory Theater has announced its 25th anniversary season of world premieres and its third season at its Rogers Parkhome: Mike Ooi's Captain Steve's Caring Kingdom, October 27 December 9, Carrie J. Sullivan's The Next Big Thing, March 9 April 21, 2018 and Jill Oliver's Lametown and the Adventures of Spirit Force Five, June 29 August 11, 2018.

THE LAST BIG MISTAKE and More Set for The Factory Theater's 23rd Season

After an initial delay due to permit processing, The Factory Theater announces season with new dates in new Rogers Park theater. The Factory Theater is ready to begin their 23rd season of shows, which will now consist of two productions. A third will kick off the 24th season in the Fall of 2016, with the remaining Season 24 shows to be announced at a later date. All shows, as previously planned, will take place at 1623 W. Howard Street, at the new Factory Theater.

The Factory Theater begins their 23rd season on a new schedule, in the fall of 2015. All shows will take place at 1621-23 W. Howard Street, at the new Factory Theater. The company is currently in the midst of a capital campaign that includes an Indiegogo campaign to help raise funds for the costs of building the theater.

Strawdog Theatre Company and Artistic Director Hank Boland have announced the first production of their 2014 - 2015 season, Max Frisch's The Arsonists through September 27, direction by Matt Hawkins and adapted by Alistair Beaton, at Strawdog Theatre Company, 3829 N. Broadway St. The opening night performance is Monday, Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays - Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. An industry performance is Monday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. Single tickets are currently on sale for $15 for preview performances, $50 for the Board Preview performance that includes appetizers, open bar and a reception immediately following the production, and $28 for the regular run. Brittany Ellis, Natalie DiCristofano & More to Lead Wayward Productions' BURN THE BLACK DOG; Full Cast Announced

Wayward Productions has announced complete casting for the June 13th opening. Adventure Stage Chicago to Present World Premiere of SPARK: CHAPTER ONE OF THE PROMETHEUS PROJECT, 4/5-5/8

Adventure Stage Chicago (ASC) closes their 10th season with the world premiere of SPARK: Chapter One of The Prometheus Project, which completely re-imagines the myths of Prometheus and Pandora. SPARK runs April 5 - May 8, 2014 and is written by Tom Arvetis (ASC Producing Artistic Director) and directed by Rives Collins (Theatre and Drama for Youth Specialist, Northwestern University).

Lifeline's THE EMPEROR'S NEW THREADS: A FASHION STATEMENT Extends

To accommodate extraordinary ticket demand, Lifeline Theatre will add four additional performances to the run of its family musical, The Emperor's New Threads: A Fashion Statement, based on the folktale The Emperor's New Clothes by Hans Christian Andersen. The additional performances are Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Lifeline Theatre presents an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers, by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member Robert Kauzlaric (Non-Equity Jeff Award winner), and directed by 2nd Story Artistic Director Amanda Delheimer Dimond. Kauzlaric's adaptation of The Three Musketeers was originally commissioned by the Illinois Shakespeare Festival in 2010, revised for a 2011 Indiana University production, and will be further developed for its Chicago premiere at Lifeline Theatre. Fourteen actors will play over fifty roles in this epic swashbuckler with fights choreographed by Matt Hawkins.
