Aladdin, the hit Broadway musical, continues to reach a whole new world as it celebrates five years on Broadway today at the New Amsterdam Theatre!  

On Saturday, April 6, Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture presents a double bill of Latin jazz with a Tribute to Dave Valentin, featuring a quintet led by the late flutist's musical director, pianist Bill O'Connell with virtuoso flutist Andrea Brachfeld, then following with the debut of Bill O'Connell's most recent project A.C.E. (Afro-Caribbean Ensemble) featuring a nonet comprised of some of New York's top jazz and Latin jazz artists.

As it approaches its 5th anniversary, Aladdin welcomes three new principal cast members to the company. Original Australian star Ainsley Melham has taken over the title role, marking his Broadway and North American theatrical debut. Broadway veteran Michael James Scott (Something Rotten!; The Book of Mormon; Tarzan), an original Broadway company member who originated the role of Genie in Australia and comes directly from playing it on the North American tour, has assumed the role of Genie. And as part of the show's trio of Aladdin's sidekicks, Mike Longo (Beautiful, Aladdin North American tour) stepped into the role of Kassim.

Chilina Kennedy will return to Beautiful - The Carole King Musical starting Thursday, January 3 as the production prepares to celebrate its fifth anniversary on Broadway.

NAMT has announced final casting for this year's Festival, along with programming details for the Songwriters Showcase and Midday Cabarets. The Festival of New Musicals will take place on Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26, 2018 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues).

The FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS takes place on Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26, 2018 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). Festival events kick off on Monday, October 22 with Thank You, 30! a gala event to celebrate the 30th Annual Festival.

Kate Reinders will play Cynthia Weil in the Tony, Olivier, and Grammy Award-winning smash hit Beautiful - The Carole King Musical at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre starting Friday, October 19.

Birdland Theater presented singer Daniel LeClaire, who make his NYC solo debut on Tuesday, October 2. He was accompanied by a band, which included Mike Underwood, Ron Bryant and Julio Reyes. Daniel's very special guest stars were Ruby Lewis, Jelani Remy, Kennedy Caughill, and Mike Longo. The show included songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Gavin DeGraw and more.

There are some kinds of magic you think might be only possible with genies--and then Disney creates another Broadway musical.

Disney Theatrical Productions is pleased to announce that Clinton Greenspan will star in the title role in the North American touring production of Disney's Aladdin starting on April 7 in Denver, where the hit Broadway musical will play a limited three-week engagement at The Buell Theatre through April 28.  Greenspan, who previously understudied the iconic role on tour, succeeds original Broadway and tour star Adam Jacobs, who will play his final performance as 'Aladdin' on March 31 in Los Angeles at The Hollywood Pantages Theatre.  Tickets are on sale now at denvercenter.org.

Disney Theatrical Productions has announced that original Broadway cast members Adam Jacobs (Aladdin), Michael James Scott (Genie - also original Australian Genie) and Courtney Reed (Jasmine) will reunite for five weeks of the Los Angeles premiere engagement of Disney's ALADDIN, from Saturday, January 13 - Sunday, February 18, 2018.
