SUMMERWORKS 2013 - the annual season of new plays presented by the four-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb, will be presented tonight, May 24 to June 29 at The Wild Project (195 E. 3rd St.) in Manhattan.

Clubbed Thumb -- the Obie Award-winning theater company known for SUMMERWORKS, its annual month-long season of new play premieres -- will hold a Spring Soiree benefit on Monday, May 13 at 6 p.m. at a private residence in Brooklyn. F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, continues its annual series of short, commissioned world-premiere plays at the Medicine Show Theatre in Manhattan with The Spring Fling: The Morning After, six new plays by Hilary Bettis (American Girls), Nick Jones (The Coward, Trevor), Krista Knight (Clementine and the Cyber Ducks), Janine Nabers (Annie Bosh is Missing), Heidi Schreck (There Are No More Big Secrets, Creature), and Joe Tracz (Up North) and directed by Oliver Butler (Blood Play), Matt Dickson (The Man-Made Rock), Mike Donahue (Grace, or the Art of Climbing), Portia Krieger (The Netflix Plays), Stella Powell-Jones (Williamstown Theatre Festival Directing Assistant), and Pirronne Yousefzadeh (Ten, The Tenant). Performances will be Thursday, April 4th through Sunday, April 14th with Thursday through Saturday night performances at 8pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2p.

Representatives from 23 states flocked to the Mile High City to attend a marathon of new plays at the 8th Annual Colorado New Play Summit, presented by the Denver Center Theatre Company (DCTC) February 8 - 10, 2013. With a stunning representation of today's top American playwrights, DCTC demonstrated its commitment to new work and solidified its position as one of the nation's top tier new play festivals. This year's Summit hosted artistic directors, literary managers, and dramaturgs representing 31 theatre organizations from across the country, plus media, playwrights, directors, and members of the public, all eager to discover "the next Great American Play." The 2013 Colorado New Play Summit took place at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, 14th and Curtis Streets, in downtown Denver, February 8 - 10, 2013.

Chicago Opera Theater (COT) announces the final artistic teams for their upcoming 2012 Season. The season opens April 14 with Shostakovich's Moscow, Cheryomushki, followed by the concluding opera in COT's "Medea" trilogy, Handel's Teseo; and in September COT will present a new production of Mozart's The Magic Flute. Chicago Opera Theater's 2012 Season will be presented at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park.

Ars Nova has announced a by-invitation-only reading of Max Vernon's new musical, Wired, tomorrow July 28 at 2pm at Ars Nova. Directed by Mike Donahue, and musical directed by Sonny Paladino, the cast features Spider-Man's Patrick Page and Wicked's Teal Wicks. The reading will also include Meggie Cansler, Paige Davis, Matt Doyle, Rich Dreher, Asmeret Ghebremichael, Nathan Graham, Brian Tyree Henry and Bobby List.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will present its annual free *Picnic Series*, featuring performances by The Theatre's prestigious touring troupe, the *Next Stage Ensemble*, on July 16 and August 6.
