Playwrights Foundation (PF) today announced the second annual SF One-Minute Play Festival (SF OMPF), a two-day event on December 17 & 18, 2011 showcasing the talents of 32 Bay Area playwrights, along with the region's leading directors and actors.
On December 2, 2011 New York artists will introduce tourists and New Yorkers going to Broadway shows or shopping themselves into debt to the idea of occupation as CREATIVE resistance with non-stop free performances. We will set up in a privately owned public space (POPS) near Times Square, turning once blandified space into a space for cultural production.
Due to extraordinary demand, The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) announced today that Mike Daisey's critically acclaimed THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY OF STEVE JOBS will return in January for an additional five week run in the Martinson Theater. Created and performed by Mike Daisey and directed by Jean-Michele Gregory, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY OF STEVE JOBS began previews at The Public on October 11, officially opened on October 17, and was originally scheduled to close on November 13. It was extended an additional three weeks to December 4. The return engagement will run January 31 to March 4, 2012. Tickets, priced at $75-$85, are on sale now. The Public Theater announced today that Patrick Willingham, former President and Chief Operating Officer of Blue Man Productions, has been appointed the new Executive Director of The Public Theater, beginning November 28, 2011.
