New CBS Drama INSTINCT Grows In Second Week & Is #1 Scripted Program Across All Networks

CBS continues to pound the paint, scoring from all over and winning on five nights (Wednesday through Sunday), while remaining the most-watched network and demo champ for the second consecutive week, thanks to both regularly scheduled programming and NCAA Championship basketball, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Additionally, the Network had the most-watched program (60 MINUTES, featuring a much-anticipated interview with Stormy Daniels) on television as well as the most-watched scripted program (INSTINCT) for the week ending March 25.

The Groundlings is bringing back THE GALE, their sold-out LGBTQ-focused improv from last year, scheduling at least five evenings of gay gaiety for 2018. THE GALE, 90-minute improvisations of much hilarity by the troupe The Gale, created by Chris Eckert, feature gay and lesbian Groundlings members, as well as, special funny guests from other improv communities.
Tina Tchen To Chair Recording Academy Task Force On Inclusion and Diversity

The Recording Academy is pleased to announce that Tina Tchen, chief of staff to former first lady Michelle Obama, will chair its task force to examine issues of inclusion and diversity within the Academy and the broader music community. As part of its charter, the task force will identify the various barriers and unconscious biases faced by underrepresented communities throughout the music industry and, specifically, across Recording Academy operations and policies. In an effort to determine pathways toward greater parity at every level of the organization, the task force will look specifically at Recording Academy governance, hiring and promotion practices, membership, awards, and telecast.

That new attitude will be on display when the Harlem Quartet returns to the Soraya and Younes Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) and teams up with honor students from CSUN's Samuel Goldberg Honors String Quartet. American Composers Orchestra (ACO) announces two performances presented by Carnegie Hall in Zankel Hall during the 2018-2019 season. In 2018-2019, under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel, Music Director George Manahan, and President Edward Yim, ACO continues its commitment to the creation, performance, preservation, and promotion of music by American composers, with programming that reflects the infinite ways American orchestral music illustrates geographic, stylistic, gender, and racial diversity. ACO's concerts at Carnegie Hall include premieres by 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winner Du Yun, by composer and Imani Winds flutist Valerie Coleman, and by Alex Temple, a composer who integrates love for pop culture and the Western classical tradition. Additional 2018-2019 performances and activities will be announced in March 2018.
