New York City Center is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Fall for Dance Festival with a very special season, beginning with two free evenings of dance at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, hosted by The Public Theater, on September 16 and 17 (rain date, September 18). The Festival will continue at City Center from September 25 - October 5 with performances by 20 acclaimed dance companies and artists from around the world, including three new works from today's most exciting young choreographers, commissioned by New York City Center in celebration of the tenth anniversary.

Highlighting the depth and breadth of national and international tap artistry, Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP), the nation's premier presenter of American tap dance and contemporary percussive arts, presents Rhythm World, the oldest and most comprehensive festival of American tap and contemporary percussive arts in the world, beginning today, July 22, and running through August 4 in downtown Chicago.

Jacob's Pillow presents Dorrance Dance and the world premiere of The Blues Project, July 24-28 in the Doris Duke Theatre. Founded two years ago by 2013 Jacob's Pillow Dance Award recipient Michelle Dorrance, the company features some of today's best tap artists including co-choreographers of The Blues Project Derick K. Grant and Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards. Award-winning musician, composer, and founder of the band BIGLovely Toshi Reagon created the music for The Blues Project, which will be performed live by Reagon and four other musicians on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums and percussion, and violin.

Jacob's Pillow announces today that Executive and Artistic Director Ella Baff will soon present the seventh annual Jacob's Pillow Dance Award to Michelle Dorrance, an acclaimed tap dancer, choreographer, and Artistic Director of Dorrance Dance. Praised as a "talented choreographer, the most promising one in tap right now" by Brian Seibert of The New York Times, Dorrance is among the most respected tap performers of her generation.

Single tickets for the 81st Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival go on sale to the general public on April 8 at 10am. Jacob's Pillow is a National Historic Landmark, home to America's longest-running dance festival, and a recipient of the National Medal of Arts; Jennifer Dunning of The New York Times has hailed the Pillow as "the dance center of the nation, possibly the world." Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP) presents its resident ensemble BAM! performing a world premiere by 2012 Princess Grace Award winner Michelle Dorrance, commissioned by the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University as part of its debut MUSIC + MOVEMENT FESTIVAL. The program, which takes place Thursday, April 4 at 6 p.m. at the Katten/Landau Studio at 425 S. Wabash, also features works by Chicago native and Broadway star Ted Levy, CHRP Founder Lane Alexander and BAM! member Kristi Burris, as well as live music by the Greg Spero Trio and Chicago jazz vocalist Tressa Thomas.

The Martha Graham Dance Company (Janet Eilber, Artistic Director; LaRue Allen, Executive Director) will present 15 performances at The Joyce Theater, tonight, February 20-March 3, 2013.

The American Tap Dance Foundation (ATDF) presents 'Rockin' in Rhythm' tonight, February 16th, at 7:30 pm at the Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street. Tony Waag, Artistic/Executive Director, announced that the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Middle School Jazz Academy will be joining the Concert.

The season continues the company's innovative thematic presentations with Myth and Transformation-three compelling programs that explore how artists reinvent iconic stories to make bold contemporary statements. The two-week season features Graham masterworks including Phaedra, Cave of the Heart, Night Journey, Errand into the Maze, and Diversion of Angels alongside new commissions and premieres from Richard Move, Luca Veggetti, and Doug Varone. A reconstruction of a Graham solo, Imperial Gesture (1935), will also be presented. Performances will take place Wednesday, February 20 to Sunday, February 24; and Tuesday, February 26 to Sunday, March 3.

FOCUS 2013, a celebration of U.S.-based dance presented by Gotham Arts Exchange, introduces a new program and stage to its annual platform, FOCUS2013: FOCAL POINT, comprised of three programs each curated by a different dance artist. FOCAL POINT will be presented on Friday, January 11 at 8pm; Saturday, January 12 at 4pm; and Sunday, January 13 at 4pm at The Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 W. 55th Street, NYC.
