Bristol Old Vic today revealed the cast who are to bring Sally Cookson's newest family show to life - the dreamy Christmas tale, SLEEPING BEAUTY. Bringing the much loved fairy-tale bang up to date, roles are reversed as our male beauty is tricked into a deep sleep for 100 years, before being woken by a poor young girl with the heart of a lion.

The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company will present the eleventh annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Stacey Luftig and Phillip Palmer.  The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by Karen Ziemba on Monday, November 30th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

For thirty years now, Kneehigh have been creating original, innovative pieces of theatre. Over this time, they have grown to an international scale and have built a solid reputation for quality which any theatre company would be envious of. Earlier this year saw Daphne Du Maurier's Rebecca being given the Kneehigh treatment and to massive acclaim. This continues to tour whilst Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs) is starting out on its UK tour.

This autumn Kneehigh return to Birmingham Repertory Theatre following their sell-out run of Rebecca earlier this year, with their critically acclaimed radical new reworking of the Beggar's Opera, Dead Dog In A Suitcase (And Other Love Songs).

Repertory Philippines (Rep) stages Michael Valenti and Elsa Rael's musical theater version of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' from August 15 to December 10 at Greenbelt 1 Onstage Theatre in Makati City.

This gala opening night performance, hosted by Natalie Portman and featuring Music and Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, airs on THIRTEEN's Great Performances, tonight, July 24 at 9 p.m. on PBS. (Check local listings.)

This autumn, Cornwall-based international touring company Kneehigh, with Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse, begin a new tour of Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs), their critically acclaimed radical reworking of John Gay's The Beggar's Opera, written by Carl Grose, with a brand new score of live musicby Charles Hazlewood, and directed by Artistic Director Mike Shepherd.

With much excitement and clamor, Broadway's N'Kenge returns to Alphine Theatre Project in Montana to star in 'Chicago' as Matron 'Mama' Morton, the Witch in 'Big Fish,' and various roles in 'Ring of Fire.' All three productions will be running in rotating repertory from July 9 - August 1.

Bold New Voices: Past, Present and Future, a collaboration between My Image Studios Harlem (MIST Harlem) and Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre Group will present a film screening of the Royal Shakespeare Company's critically acclaimed Pan African production of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, starring an all Black British cast, on June 22 at 7:00pm at My Image Studios Harlem (MIST Harlem), 46 West 116th Street.

BAFTA Award-winning writer, Geoff Thompson's personal and haunting new play, The Pyramid Texts will be making its world stage premiere at Birmingham Repertory Theatre from 26 to 30 May. It will be performed by the prolific British actor, Christopher Fairbank and directed by twice Oliver Award-nominee, Michael Vale.

Birmingham Repertory Theatre has announced that James Cosmo has had to withdraw from the forthcoming production of The Pyramid Texts by Geoff Thompson due to ill health.

The Children's Acting Academy presents Out of My Comfort Zone, a new rock musical by husband-and-wife team Ivy Vale (book, lyrics and music) and Rick Reil (music) about self-identity, gender, love, expectations, stereotypes, cyber-bullying, and friendship. Six performances will be staged at the Chernuchin Theatre at the American Theatre of Actors, 314 West 54th Street, New York, NY 10019 this weekend, February 5-8, 2015.
