James Cosmo Withdraws from Birmingham Rep's THE PYRAMID TEXTS

Birmingham Repertory Theatre has announced that James Cosmo has had to withdraw from the forthcoming production of The Pyramid Texts by Geoff Thompson due to ill health.

James Cosmo was due to perform The Pyramid Texts at The REP from 26 to 30 May. The show will be recast and details announced as soon as possible. The REP wishes him all the best in his recovery.

The Pyramid Texts is a haunting monologue from the BAFTA award-winning writer Geoff Thompson. Alone in a boxing gym, with a video camera, there is one last thing that lonely old boxer Ray has to do. As he reminisces over a lifetime of fights he gradually lets his guard down to reveal a heartbreak hidden beneath his hardened exterior leading to an emotionally devastating knock-out conclusion. The play is directed by Michael Vale.
