The CW Announces Midseason Moves for 2019

The CW Network has started to set its 2019 midseason schedule by slating the debut of new series ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO for Tuesday, January 15, 2019 (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT) and moving BLACK LIGHTNING to Mondays after ARROW starting on January 21, 2019 (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT), it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW Network.

The CW Network presents its 2018-19 primetime schedule to advertisers, affiliates, and press today, at the New York City Center in New York City, with the platinum-selling American rock band 30 Seconds to Mars opening the show with a performance of their new hit songs "Rescue Me" and "Walk on Water." Expanding to a six-night, Sunday-Friday schedule this fall, The CW will have 12 hours of original scripted series across the week in primetime this fall, more than ABC, NBC or Fox.

SHERLOCK HOLMES with David Arquette Will Play Toronto This Fall

Starvox Entertainment announced today it has signed David Arquette (Scream, Friends) to play the title role in an original adaptation of Sherlock Holmes inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic tales by the late Canadian playwright, Greg Kramer. Sherlock Holmes premiered in Montreal in 2013 in a sold-out, critically acclaimed production at The Segal Centre directed by Andrew Shaver, who will remount the show for a North American tour, playing Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre from October 27 to November 8, 2015.

When news dropped of Nina Dobrev's departure from THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, fans everywhere clamored for answers and solace. Why was she leaving? How would she leave? Would she die? Would a mermaid-unicorn hybrid sire her into the deep underworld? It's always tricky when writing a main character off a television show, especially when said actor has decided to leave on his or her own terms. This week's season finale of TVD, entitled 'I'm Thinking of You All the While,' not only said a final goodbye to Nina Dobrev's Elena Gilbert (and all her doppelgänger counterparts), but Michael Trevino's wolfy Tyler Lockwood as well. And although their goodbyes were permanent, they still left the door wide open for compelling storytelling as the show moves into a new season and brand new territory.
