Liz Lerman's "Healing Wars," the first dance event of Peak Performances 2014/15 season, opens at the Kasser Theater for three days only, September 25-27, following three weeks of sold-out performances at the Arena Stage in Washington D.C this past June.
Italian food and Italian opera – a match made in heaven! Opera-goers this Spring will have a wonderful new opportunity to dine before the show at opera-themed dinners at the Tram Bar, in the forecourt of Arts Centre Melbourne. Three courses inspired by Italian opera, will be available each night (max 100) with matched wines, for $55. To set the scene, the Tram Bar will be transformed with props from the operas, turning it into the perfect prelude to a night at the opera.

Deadline reports that Steve Carell is taking over Zach Galifianakis's role in the upcoming drama FREEHELD. Galifianakis departs the project due to schedule conflicts. FREEHELD also stars Julianne Moore and Ellen Page and will be directed by Peter Sollett from a script by Ron Nyswaner.

From August 17 to September 7, 2014 Theater for the New City (TNC), under the direction of Crystal Field, Artistic Director, will present its fifth 'Dream Up Festival,' a festival of adventurous theater featuring new works from across the country and abroad. Helmed by the theater's Literary Manager, Michael Scott-Price, the festival offers 24 plays, of which 19 are world premieres, two are American premieres and two are New York premieres. There is one workshop production.
