Grease is the word at Starlight Theatre now through Thursday, Sept. 14. The beloved musical that features 1950s' high school romance and rock 'n' roll will cruise across the Starlight stage like Greased Lightnin' for six performances, opening on Friday night, Sept. 8 and continuing through Sept. 14.

Main Street Theater presents a staged reading of a new musical adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, adapted by Jon Jory and with an original score by Peter Ekstrom. There are two performances: Saturday, July 18 at 7:30pm and Sunday, July 19 at 3pm at Chelsea Market, 4617 Montrose Blvd., Houston, TX 77006. All tickets are $10; seating is general admission. The 15th anniversary of the Midtown International Theatre Festival continues. Spend next weekend with john Chatterton and his venerable midtown festival series. First Saturday & Sunday at Roy Arias Theatres will be the premiere of 20 new short plays as part of the monthly Short Play Lab series. Then the Commercial Division's Salon Evening: an evening of excerpts from future productions focused on an off-Broadway or Broadway run in the near future.

The owner of a failing jazz club seeks to save what her grandfather built, inspiring those around her to chase their dreams. Twelve visually impaired actors and musicians take the stage in Yesterday's, an original comedy created and performed by Theatre by the Blind, the country's only theater troupe composed entirely of blind actors. Created by the ensemble, co-written by Colin Simson and Lindsay Nyman, co-directed by Greg Shane and Lindsay Nyman, and presented by CRE Outreach, Yesterday's will run tonight, April 18 through May 5 at the Promenade Playhouse in Santa Monica.
