 One of San Diego's most accomplished choreographers, Michael Mizerany (known to Diversionary audiences for his work on bare: a pop opera, Thrill Me, and A New Brain) presents an electrifying night of dance with the West Coast Premiere of his company, Compulsion Dance & Theatre!  

The Desert Rose Playhouse, in Rancho Mirage California, is presenting a hilariously funny sendup of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, SCROOGE IN ROUGE. The plot's premise is that a small music hall on London's outskirts plans to present A CHRISTMAS CAROL. When all but three actors in the twenty-member cast develop food poisoning, the three decide to go forward with each of them taking on multiple roles. The puns and other corny jokes fly in this brilliant production. If you see only one version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL this year, it should be this one.

Cygnet Artistic Director Sean Murray will direct Spring Awakening, an eight-time Tony Award-winning musical with an electrifying rock score by Duncan Sheik. This intoxicating story of youth and sexuality is based on an 1895 play by Frank Wedekind and features a book and lyrics by Steven Sater. The production, featuring choreography by award-winning dance maker Michael Mizerany, runs March 6 through April 27 at the Old Town Theatre. Opening Night is March 15th.

And thanks to sold-out delighted audiences for 2 years, the British dance hall musical returns on Thursday, December 5th! San Diego favorites Samantha Ginn and Justin Warren Martin will be making their Diversionary Theatre debuts and diving into the production alongside the spirited return of the always hysterical Tony Houck who is reviving his role of Lottie for the 3rd year. This year's holiday extravaganza will feature new infectious festive music, as well as mind and gender-bending quick-witted comedy.

More than 110 local and national theater artists representing more than 45 San Diego theatrical productions will compete for the 2012 Craig Noel Awards, the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle announced today.

Circle Circle dot dot kicks off their official SECOND SEASON with, 'Street. Art. Prophets.' a collection of 5 short plays about artists who take to the streets to get their art seen. It was a full house on Opening Night and members of the community, family, & friends came out to show their support. Audiences enjoyed watching 5 WORLD PREMIERE plays and took to the 'Tag Wall' display in the lobby to voice their love of the show. Check out photos from the wall and the show below!
