The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) has announced the 2019 MAC Award nominees. The nominees, in a majority of the categories, were determined by votes cast by the active MAC membership. Special committees selected the nominees in the Ensemble Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Singing Entertainer (Female; Male), Recording (LaMott Friedman), Major Recording, Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Interim Executive Director; David McCoy, Chairman of the Board), dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, as part of its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, will present the staged readings of two new musicals: Dutch Master, with music and lyrics by Jeffrey Stock (Triumph of Love), and book by Marc Acito (Allegiance), and The White Witch of Rosehall, with music by Balint Varga (Houdini the Musical), and book and lyrics by Bryan D. Leys (Hell's Belles) at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Tweiss Productions and Nicholas James Opalenik/Event Horizon Productions opened their musical Hell's Belles in Times Square on Saturday, October 24th at 5:30pm. Hell's Belles has a book and lyrics by Bryan D. Leys and music by Steve Liebman. Hell's Belles began performances at The Elektra Theatre at The Times Square Arts Center (300 West 43rd Street) on October 3 for a limited run through December 27, 2015. The show features direction by John Znidarsic, music direction by Mary Feinsinger, and musical staging by Eugenio Contenti.
