Based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title, SCHOOL OF ROCK: THE MUSICAL, with music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, a book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor, made its World Premiere on Broadway last night, December 6, at the Winter Garden Theatre. This morning, October 16 (9-10 a.m.) Andrew Lloyd Webber and Alex Brightman stop by TODAY to talk about the new Broadway musical School of Rock, beginning previews on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway), with an opening set for Sunday, December 6, 2015.

The box office officially opens today for the World Premiere of School of Rock - The Musical at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway). Previews will begin on Monday, November 9, 2015, with an opening set for Sunday, December 6, 2015. Andrew Lloyd Webber announced today the complete cast for School of Rock - The Musical, which will have its World Premiere on Broadway.  Based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title, School of Rock will feature music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, with a book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor (currently represented on Broadway by Les Miserables). Previews will begin on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway), with an opening set for Sunday, December 6, 2015.

Writer, performer, Melissa Gordon's solo show Fresh continues its run at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCB) in Chelsea on Wednesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 17th at 8:00 pm. The production is directed by Michael Hartney who is a member of UCB Harold Team, The Governess.

Upright Citizen Brigade has announced February extension dates for The 2017 Tony Awardz, a musical parody by Stephanie Streisand and Rocco Privetera. Performances will be held Monday, February 18th at 8pm and Wednesday, February 27th at 8:00pm (with future dates to be announced). Evan Greenspoon (Jest) directs a cast of seven including Stephanie Streisand (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon), Michael Hartney (30 Rock, Small Time), Richard "Big Rich" Armstead, Adam Bozarth, Caroline Cotter, Matthew Frazier, and Douglas Widick. The 2017 Tony Awardz will run at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, 307 West 26th Street, in New York City.
