QSTC's Playwrights of Color Summit (POCS) is a week-long residency that allows previously unproduced playwrights an opportunity to work exclusively on their plays with all resources, stipends, travel and room & board provided by QSTC.  The week's work will culminate in staged readings of four finalists' plays. Founder Tyrone Mitchell Henderson says, "This year we will accentuate the voices of four female solo artists whose work sheds light on self-worth, communication, love, identity and growing as an artist.  It is so fulfilling to bring these new works to my home town."

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) stages its second Studio Theatre production of the 2018-19 season with "If We Were Birds" by Erin Shields. Helene Kvale will direct.

Quick Silver Theater Company's 3rd annual POC Summit. Quick Silver Theater Company is an award - winning New York based collective dedicated to amplifying the allied voice, individual potential and overall presence of underrepresented and marginalized communities throughout the American theatrical landscape. Founded in 2013 by Tyrone Henderson and Lizan Mitchell, QST aims to shine a light on our common humanity, reflecting back to us our depth and complexity and elevating our lives to a height worthy of art.

American Theatre Editor-in-Chief Rob Weinert-Kendt will speak about the creative benefits, production challenges, and audience experience of repertory theatre, followed by a panel and audience discussion with Melody Libonati, Artistic Director of Summer Theatre of New Canaan; Michael Bradford, Artistic Director, and Dale Rose, Associate Artistic Director of Connecticut Rep; Jason Peck and Jonathan Winn, Co-Artistic Directors of Thrown Stone; and Fufan Zhang, Scenic Design alum from Yale School of Drama .

Founded in 2013, QST is a collective of thirteen artists dedicated to amplifying the collective voice, individual potential, the overall presence of people of color, women and other marginalized groups within the American theatrical landscape.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) will present "Waiting for Lefty", which will be the first play directed by new Artistic Director Michael Bradford.  "Waiting for Lefty" will be paired with "Severance", a new one-act play by Levi Alpert.  Performances will be held in the Nafe Katter Theatre from February 23rd through March 5th 2017.
