Quick Silver Theater Company Announces 3rd Annual POC Summit ImageQuick Silver Theater Company's 3rd annual POC Summit. Quick Silver Theater Company is an award - winning New York based collective dedicated to amplifying the allied voice, individual potential and overall presence of underrepresented and marginalized communities throughout the American theatrical landscape. Founded in 2013 by Tyrone Henderson and Lizan Mitchell, QST aims to shine a light on our common humanity, reflecting back to us our depth and complexity and elevating our lives to a height worthy of art.

We strive to shift the dynamics of traditional storytelling and localize our work in a specificity of culture / race, class, gender, sexuality, economics and / or geography. QST's Playwrights of Color Summit is a week - long residency that allows previously unproduced playwrights an opportunity to work exclusively on their plays with all resources, stipends, travel and room & board provided by QST.

The week's work will culminate in staged readings of the three finalists ' plays. Founder Tyrone Mitchell Henderson says, " This year's offerings include subject matter ranging from the current events of the #MeToo movement through the lens of the Medusa myth, Love and Loss, as well as Environmental Injustice. You d on't want to miss out this year. "

Playwrights of Color Summit Readings on Friday June 9th and Saturday June 10th, 2018 Admission Free Seating is Limited - Reserve a POCS Passport to attend all three readings.

Geneva, New York The Playwrights of Color Summit will take place in Geneva, New York. Geneva is Henderson's home town. The performance venues hosting the Summit include Hobart and William Smith Colleges and The Geneva Community Center.

QST would like to thank the community of Geneva for their generous support. Every theatrical event produced by Quick Silver Theater Company concludes with a QST Conversation. Renowned playwright and Professor of Dramatic Arts at The University of Connecticut Michael Bradford will moderate each of the QST Conversation s.
