What does a standby do when she's just standing by? This one wrote an album. Merideth Kaye Clark recently finished a two-year run as the standby for Elphaba-one of musical theatre's most vocally challenging roles-in the hit musical Wicked (First National Tour). While she performed the role over 150 times in 30+ cities, she often spent hours a week waiting backstage for her chance to be painted green. With that time on hand, and inspiration from the road, she has written Young Stellar Object. With the help of producer and long-time collaborator Ricky Marson, Merideth has compiled 9 folk-pop songs that highlight her voice, as well as the talent of musicians from across the country and in the traveling orchestra of Wicked.
