WICKED's Merideth Kaye Clark Releases 'Young Stellar Object,' 7/20
By: Nicolas Coburn Jul. 14, 2010
Fresh off a two-year stint in the hit musical Wicked (Elphaba standby, First National Tour), Merideth Kaye Clark is releasing a solo album: Young Stellar Object. Performing the leading role over 150 times in 30+ cities, Merideth still spent many hours a week waiting backstage for her chance to be painted green. She put this spare time traveling the country with Wicked to use, writing and recording a folk-pop album that channels her unique experience of a life being lived on the road.
The term Young Stellar Object is borrowed from astronomy, to describe a star that is not yet fully formed. This title serves as an apt description of a performer waiting to play the starring role at a moment's notice, and compliments the cosmic-themed imagery found in many of the songs ("Beautiful Silence"; "Trip to the Moon"; "Stars"; "Dawn"; "Shine On").July 26: New York, NY -- Googie's above the Living Room
