Weimar inspired cabaret star Meow Meow (Melissa Madden Gray) brings her poignant philosophical ponderings of love to the SYDNEY FESTIVAL with her interpretation of the Hans Christian Andersen's LITTLE MERMAID.

Shakespeare's Globe's new artistic director Emma Rice has just announced the line-up for the historic theatre's new season. Called the 'Wonder Season,' all of the productions will include elements of folklore and magic. A decidedly un-Disney cabaret, Meow Meow's Little Mermaid is a sexy spectacle that questions the conventions of what constitutes a 'happy ending'. Joining Meow Meow on stage will be a procession of cardboard cut-out princes, led by real life prince of Australian entertainment, Hugh Sheridan (TV's Packed to the Rafters).

Broadwayworld spoke with Vivian Reed, two-time Tony nominee, about her upcoming performance at the Celebration and why Edith Piaf's 'passion' is universal. 

Elaine Paige is heading back to the New York stage later this month in PIAF: A CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION, and she's opening up with Out's Michael Musto about her career. The West End, who originated roles in Evita, Cats, and more, legend told Musto: 'The more years pass, I look back and think, "Who was that girl?" It seems a lifetime ago. I consider myself very lucky to have been part of the new musicals coming out of England. It was the renaissance of British musicals, so I feel very fortunate [to be involved] at the time Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice were writing those shows. Yes, I am proud.'

On August 7, Pink Martini performed with New York Pops at its inaugural summer series at its new home, Forest Hills Stadium. The genre-defying Portland, Oregon-based band features lead singers China Forbes and Storm Large, alongside bandleader Thomas Lauderdale and several other instrumentalists.

Mervon Mehta, Executive Director of Performing Arts at The Royal Conservatory of Music, today announced the return engagement of cabaret star Meow Meow on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at 8 pm, as part of the Quiet Please, There's a Lady On Stage concert series. The singer, who "blends performance art, cabaret, and pop culture into a style that defies labeling," (Preview Magazine), sold out her Koerner Hall debut on February 2, 2013.

Meow Meow, once again, had the audience in the palm of her hand from first to last.

The packed audience showed their appreciation with continuous bursts of applause and laughter.

Australian comedy legend Barry Humphries makes his debut as Artistic Director for this year's Festival, promising to capture your heart and soul along with plenty of "beauty, wit and astonishment" in an outstanding program of music, story-telling, comedy and incredible talent.
