Photo Flash: First Folio Theatre's THE RAINMAKER, Opening Tomorrow

First Folio Theatre, at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83, will begin its 2013-2014 season with the poignant, romantic drama THE RAINMAKER, opening Saturday, August 3 at 8:15 p.m. and running through September 1, 2013 on the outdoor stage. The production is directed by Jeff Award nominee and First Folio Theatre Co-Founder, Alison C. Vesely (First Folio's A Moon for the Misbegotten). Check out a first look below!

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) presents Short Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet, a 75-minute abridged production of Shakespeare's tragedy of true love found-and tragically lost, adapted and staged by Jeff Award-winning director and Chicagoan of the Year in Theater Rachel Rockwell. Providing a quality, family-friendly introduction to Shakespeare on Saturday mornings from February 23 to March 23, 2013, the cast of Rockwell's production includes Chicago actors Christopher Allen and Laura Rook, who make their CST debuts in the title roles. Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today casting for Short Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet, a 75-minute abridged production of Shakespeare's tragedy of true love found-and tragically lost, adapted and staged by Jeff Award-winning director and Chicagoan of the Year in Theater Rachel Rockwell. First Folio Theatre Presents TEA AT FIVE, Closes 10/16

First Folio Theatre, at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83, presents the final performance of the hit one-woman show TEA AT FIVE written by Matthew Lombardo on October 16. This gracefully funny and heartwarming tale stars Melissa Carlson as legendary actress Katharine Hepburn.

First Folio Theatre, at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83, has added four shows to its performance schedule to meet the demand for tickets to the hit one-woman show TEA AT FIVE written by Matthew Lombardo.

First Folio Theatre's Season of Passion will continue this February with Design for Living, No?l Coward's comedic masterpiece of two men with a passion for the same woman, whose machinations lead to fireworks, love, and laughter. The NY Times hails Noel Coward as 'the master of impudence and tart whimsy, of plain words that leap out of the dialogue like shafts of laughter. 'Directed by Alison C. Vesely, the production marks the return to First Folio's stage of two of its most popular Artistic Associates, Kevin McKillip (as Leo) and Melanie Keller (as Gilda). Kevin McKillip has appeared in more than a dozen First Folio productions, including the Jeff nominated roles of Richard III, Puck (A Midsummer Night's Dream), and Eustace Bassington-Bassington (in last season's Jeeves Intervenes). He has appeared with numerous Chicago area theaters including the Goodman (The Story), Court (Arcadia), and Famous Door (Early and Often and Ghetto), and spent a year with the Stratford Festival in Ontario, Canada.

Chicago Shakespeare opens three shows in the month of January reflecting the Theater's diverse programming. Artistic Director Barbara Gaines stages Macbeth in the Courtyard Theater, January 2-March 8, 2009; CST's World's Stage international program initiative, presents a company from Rwanda performing The Investigation in the Theater Upstairs at Chicago Shakespeare, January 21-31, 2009; and CST welcomes families to the theater with an abridged production of one of Shakespeare's most popular comedies, Short Shakespeare! A Midsummer Night's Dream, January 24-March 7, 2009, on Saturdays in the Courtyard Theater.
