In anticipation of the new 2016/17 Season, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts will throw open its doors and welcome the community for a two-day celebration of the performing arts. WelcomeFest will showcase many of the upcoming 2016/17 season's artists and other Los Angeles-based performers bringing their work to the Beverly Hills campus. WelcomeFest takes place Saturday, September 10 from 2pm - 10pm and Sunday, September 11 from 10am - 2pm. All performances and activities are free to the public. According to Artistic Director/Producer Tony Waag, Tap Treasures Showcase "reinvestigates and revisits eight historic locations in Manhattan that contributed to the evolution of tap dance." The hour-long show was performed at The Duke on 42nd Street on Thursday, July 14, 2016.

Having conquered Broadway with a string of acclaimed roles -- from GYPSY to WHITE CHRISTMAS to ON THE TOWN and now FINDING NEVERLAND -- triple-threat Tony Yazbeck sets his sights on reinventing the solo album with his new studio recording, THE FLOOR ABOVE ME, adapted and expanded from his one-man show. On Sunday, June 28, the Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to present Tony Yazbeck, the Tony-nominated star of this season's On The Town revival.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented Tony Yazbeck, the star of this season's On The Town revival in his Birdland solo debut on last night and BroadwayWorld was there. Yazbeck  heated up the Birdland stage in The Floor Above Me, a thrilling evening of tenor melodies and tenacious tap dancing, and will be joined by On The Town co-star Clyde Alves and tap dance sensation Melinda Sullivan ('So You Think You Can Dance,' 'Glee'). Musical direction and arrangements will be by Jerome Korman, and the evening is co-written and co-directed by Howard Emanuel & Tony Yazbeck. Jerome Korman/piano, Thomas Hubbard/bass, Tony Lewis/drums, Mark McGowan/trumpet.

Odyssey Opera, a Boston-­??based opera company dedicated to exploring the full spectrum of adventurous repertoire, today announced THE BRITISH INVASION, a month-­??long opera festival of fully-­??staged productions of works by English composers.
