DCPA's Off-Center Announces Full Cast and Creative Team for THIS IS MODERN ART

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is proud to announce full casting and creative team for Off-Center's production of This Is Modern Art. Based on a true incident in Chicago where a graffiti crew created an elaborate tag on the side of the Art Institute of Chicago's brand new Modern Wing, This Is Modern Art gives a glimpse into the lives of anonymous graffiti artists and asks us to question the true purpose of art.

Denver Center for the Performing Arts presents AMERICAN MARIACHI, a new play written by Jose Cruz Gonzalez. AMERICAN MARIACHI tells the story of a group of daring young women in the 1970s who break tradition to form an all-female Mariachi band. Both humorous and touching, The World Premiere of AMERICAN MARIACHI opened at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts on January 26th, and will run through February 25th.

The Old Globe's 2017 2018 Season continues with the world premiere of Jos Cruz Gonz lez's American Mariachi, a heartwarming comedy with live music. Directed by Globe favorite and San Diego native James V squez (Rich Girl, Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas!) and presented in association with Denver Center for the Performing Arts Theatre Company, American Mariachi will run March 23 to April 29, 2018 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Arvada Center Closes the 2016-2017 Black Box Season with WAITING FOR GODOT

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will finish its 2016 - 2017 Black Box season with Waiting for Godot, directed by Geoffrey Kent, opening Friday, April 21, 2017. Waiting for Godot was written by Samuel Beckett, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1969. The play is perhaps the most iconic tragicomedy on the stage and has been described as the most significant English language play of the 20th century.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will continue the 2016 - 2017 Black Box Repertory season with the regional premiere of The Drowning Girls, directed by Lynne Collins, opening Friday, March 17, 2017. The Drowning Girls is written by Beth Graham, Charlie Tomlinson, and Daniela Vlaskalic. Dark, lyrical and poignant, The Drowning Girls blends true crime with the surreal as it explores the lives and deaths of three women murdered by the same man.
