The Acting Company announces the cast and creative teams for its 2019 Summer Repertory Season. Native Son and Measure for Measure will play July 14 through August 24, 2019 at the Duke on 42nd Street (229 W. 42nd Street), with opening night for both plays set for Sunday, July 28, 2019. Last year, NBC announced that its next live musical would be Hair, airing in spring 2019. In July, the network scheduled the event for Sunday, May 19. When Sunday rolls around, however, Hair Live! won't be airing, because in February, NBC shelved the live musical permanently.
THE FANTASTICKS Opens At PLP, Helps Families In Need

Point Loma Playhouse wraps its 2019 season with The Fantasticks by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt. The Fantasticks had its premiere opening in 1960 and remained on the New York stage through 2002 making it the longest running musical ever with 17, 162 performances. A 2006 revival ran for another 4,390 performances.

Disney Channel Renews AMPHIBIA Ahead of Series Premiere

Disney Channel has ordered a second season of 'Amphibia,' a frog-out-of-water animated comedy series, ahead of its debut on MONDAY, JUNE 17 (10:00-10:30 a.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW. Leaping into the fantastical world of 'Amphibia,' the series chronicles the adventures of independent and fearless teen Anne Boonchuy (voiced by Brenda Song) after she is magically transported to a rural marshland full of frog people and meets the excitable young frog Sprig Plantar and his family. Created and executive produced by Annie Award-winner Matt Braly ('Gravity Falls'), the series is inspired by his heritage, family and childhood trips to Bangkok, Thailand.
