Victory Gardens Theater Presents MIES JULIE

Victory Gardens Theater concludes its 43rd season with Mies Julie, written by Yael Farber, directed by Dexter Bullard, and adapted from August Strindberg's Miss Julie. Mies Julie runs May 25 - June 24, 2018, with the press performance on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 7:30pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Spectrum Music and Toronto Composers Collective present the world premiere of NO PLACE LIKE HOME, featuring an award-winning all-female musical trio from the Toronto Chinese Orchestra, playing seven pieces that tell stories of home, identity and roots. Spectrum composers, using traditional Chinese instruments, have created distinctly Canadian repertoire that reflects individual stories of origin. Writers Talk Diversity in Free 'Staging Our Stories' Panel

In celebration of Immigrant Heritage Week, the Immigrant Arts Coalition and Dramatists Guild of America, in collaboration with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) will present Staging Our Stories, an interactive panel discussion with playwrights, composers, and lyricists on heritage and diversity in theatre. An official partner with the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, this free event will take place on Friday, April 20th, 1pm in the Dramatists Guild of America's Mary Rodgers Room.

DanceWorks Presents Award-Winning Urban Dance Co Gadfly

Opera Saratoga Announces Complete Casting And Programs For 2018 Summer Festival

In celebration of Seventh Stage Theatre's last decade of work, we are thrilled to bridge the visual and performing arts with our upcoming art auction event: the female gaze. This is truly an example of artists supporting artists. The female gaze is "a feminist theoretical term representing the gaze of the female viewer. It is a response to 'the male gaze,' which represents not only the gaze of the male viewer, but also the gaze of the male character and the male creator in most works of art."

Théâtre Français de Toronto Launches its 51st Season

The 2018-2019 season draws on the words of artists from Toronto and around the world, a season of 'giving voice' (Paroles manifestes) echoing the theme of 'outbursts' (Eclats manifestes) from TfT's 50th season. Audiences are invited to discover not only why key artists take position today, but also how. As such, each production is an exploration of "theatre as language", and how messages, arguments and joy are uniquely expressed through theatre.  According to TfT's Artistic Director: 'Each play is an opportunity to discover the Other through their story and how they choose to tell it'.

RIDE THE CYCLONE, A Co-Production Between The 5th Avenue Theatre And ACT Opens This Week

Ride the Cylcone, this season's dark and hilarious co-production between The 5th Avenue Theatre and ACT - A Contemporary Theatre, is now in preview performances and has its official opening night this Thursday, March 22 at ACT - A Contemporary Theatre. The award-winning director and choreographer Rachel Rockwell has continued to refine and explore the world of Ride the Cyclone with its writers Brooke Maxwell and Jacob Richmond, returning to direct after working on its two previous U.S. productions in Chicago and Off Broadway. This co-production, which is the eighth collaboration between The 5th and ACT, will showcase new developments to the script and score. At least one third of the script has been newly created for this production, which is in addition to countless small but crucial tweaks and refinements. These new developments have continued to define and shape the world that the Saint Cassian High School Chamber Choir inhabits onstage.

It stars Tannis Kowalchuk as Anne Hathaway, the woman who married William Shakespeare.  Directed by Mimi McGurl, performances run though April 1 at HERE.

In the wake of her mother's death, Mouthpiece follows one woman, for one day, as she tries to find her voice. Interweaving a cappella harmony, dissonance, text, and physicality, two performers express the inner conflict that exists within one modern woman's head.
