The Cutting Room, one of New York City's exciting night clubs, will present Sean Matthew Whiteford (Rock of Ages, Rock N Roll Debauchery)'s concert version of his 80s pop-rock romantic horror comedy party musical, GIRLFRIEND FROM HELL: THE MUSICAL on August 1st at 7:30 PM.

Early Music Vancouver (EMV) announces its Summer Festival and 2015/2016 Season, which brings a dramatic and expansive array of historically informed performances to venues across Vancouver. The meticulously curated programmes range from a Medieval Miracle Play with Dialogos Ensemble for Medieval Music, to Baroque Opera at the Chan Centre, to a multimedia experience with Toronto's Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. In their entirety, the festival and season offer a rare opportunity to hear some of history's greatest works using the instruments and forces for which they were intended.

The Producers, a Mel Brooks musical, has been a favourite of mine since I saw the Las Vegas production years ago starring David Hasselhoff - who was surprisingly good, I might add! The show had been condensed into an hour and a half straight through which worked well in my opinion. The musical was adapted from the 1968 film of the same name and opened on Broadway in 1991, receiving 12 Tony Awards - a massive achievement by any standard. The 2005 film version was also very enjoyable and starred original Broadway cast members Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick.

The Castaway Players Theatre Company, 'the alternative theatre company of the Hudson Valley', presents the classic rock opera, The Who's TOMMY, at The CENTER for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck, NY. According to an Equity casting notice, Tony winner Christopher Gattelli is set to helm an upcoming NYC developmental lab of Top Hat. This version of the show features the classic music and lyrics of Irving Berlin and a new book by Chad Beguelin. The lab is set to be held May 18 through June 19.

The Southwark Playhouse isn't exactly the physical kind of venue you'd expect a Tony winner to be working at. In terms of programming and production quality, however, it's no wonder that Lauren Ward is about to begin her run there in the cult hit Bat Boy.

Let's Face the Music and Dance with Top Hat at the Theatre Royal until Saturday 13 December. Stepping into the tap dancing shoes of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in the lead roles of Jerry Travers and Dale Tremont, are Alan Burkitt and Charlotte Gooch, who both return to Top Hat having previously performed these roles in the West End.
