Beginning September 8, the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit MATILDA THE MUSICAL will welcome Natalie Venetia Belcon as Mrs. Phelps, Allison Case as Miss Honey, Rick Holmes as Mr. Wormwood, and Amy Spanger as Mrs. Wormwood. They join a principal cast that features Christopher Sieber as Miss Trunchbull, and the four girls sharing the title role: Mattea Conforti, Rileigh McDonald, Mimi Ryder, and Alexandra Vlachos.

2015 marks the thirtieth anniversary of the end of 1984/5 miners' strike, an event that has left a huge social legacy and provided a rich seam of material for many artistic works since, including both the film and musical versions of Billy Elliot, and Matthew Warchus' wonderful 2014 hit Pride. It's fair to say that Undermined has big boots to fill, but it certainly manages to stand tall in them.

The Matilda The Musical national tour kicked off the 2015/16 season at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre last night, where it plays through September 6, 2015. While the show doesn't officially open until August 20, theatre-goers were distressed after last night's first preview, when the show reportedly struggled to make it to the final bow. The performances began a whopping hour and a half late, keeping guests waiting outside without an explanation from the staff.

Tickets will go on-sale today, August 15 at 10:00 a.m. for the St. Louis premiere of TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, MATILDA THE MUSICAL. Produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Dodgers, the first national tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL will be coming to the Fabulous Fox Theatre October 21 - November 1.
John Richardson Steps Down as The Old Vic's Producer

Matthew Warchus, Artistic Director of the Old Vic, has announced that John Richardson is to step down as Producer at the end of the month. He will maintain active connections with the Old Vic in a freelance role, working particularly on developing musicals with Warchus alongside other projects.

TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, Matilda The Musical, is coming to Houston as part of Theatre Under The Stars' 2015/16 season. Produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Dodgers, the first national tour of Matilda The Musical will be coming to The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts October 6 - 18.
