Berkeley Playhouse continues their ninth season of professional theater for family audiences with the East Bay premiere of Elton John's Tony Award-winning musical, Billy Elliot the Musical.

Two River Theater presents Hurricane Diane, a commissioned world premiere written by Madeleine George and directed by Leigh Silverman. The production features choreography by Sonya Tayeh and original music by The Bengsons. Performances will continue through Sunday, February 12. BILLY ELLIOT is a spectacle of moving proportions, a celebration of the human spirit, that in its current presentation at Phoenix Theatre leaps and bounds with heartfelt fervor. WARMTH, a new play written by Diana Rissetto and directed by Lionel Ruland, will make its New York City premiere with the Midtown International Theatre Festival.

BILLY ELLIOT, the musical based on the movie of the same name, follows the development of a dance prodigy in Northern England during the 1984 miner's strike.  The story examines the juxtaposition between the working class world of mining and the posh world of dancing, along with traditional masculine ideals and family sacrifice.  The musical version features some truly fantastic dancing and standout vocal performances that create a show that is both dazzling and heartwarming to watch.

Schreiber Studio & Theatre opens their 2015-2016 season with THE HOT L BALTIMORE, a powerful and poignant comedy by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lanford Wilson (Fifth of July, Tally's Folly, Burn This). Twenty-two performances will be staged at The Gloria Maddox Theatre, 151 West 26th Street, 7th Floor (between 6th and 7th Avenues), New York, NY 10001 now through November 21, 2015.
