The Art Institute of Chicago's Society for Contemporary Art (SCA) is pleased to host its sixth benefit on Saturday, March 1, 2014. This year's event will be held at CineSpace Film Studios, Chicago's largest film studio space on the Near West Side. Sundance Institute today announced that the newly restored Hoop Dreams (1994) will screen in the From the Collection program at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, 20 years after the film made its world premiere at the 1994 Festival. Blending ancient symbols with new technologies to evoke a timeless desire for cross-cultural unity, the exhibition includes examples from threeASFOUR's new spring-summer 2014 collection, featuring 3D-printed textiles made in collaboration with the architect Bradley Rothenberg. The clothing line and its environment are inspired by sacred geometry and tile patterns found in synagogues, churches, and mosques around the world. threeASFOUR is also working with Studio Christian Wassmann to build an architectural structure in the form of a six-pointed star, and with the 3D animation designer Alex Czetwertynski on video projections of the five Platonic solids. threeASFOUR: MER KA BA will remain on view through November 10, 2013.
