The celebrated Katselas Theatre Company today becomes Skylight Theatre Company. This is the first of many changes this award-winning theatre company will be implementing over the next few months as it shifts its focus towards curating, developing and producing new works - written exclusively by Los Angeles writers.
Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein have announced the world premiere of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins Appropriate, directed by Gary Griffin, appearing as part of the 37th Humana Festival of New American Plays. Appropriate begins previews tonight, March 5, opens March 7 and runs through April 7.

Death and the Maiden, Ariel Dorfman's political drama, opens the Matrix Theatre Company's 2012-2013 Season. Running from September 21 through October 14, the play depicts a tense political and psychologically complex story which confronts the audience with issues of justice and revenge, especially in relationship to the punishment of war criminals. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 pm, with Sunday performances beginning at 3 pm, and are presented at the Matrix Theatre located at 2730 Bagley in the heart of Detroit's Mexicantown.
