The spot features a solo violin and revealing the composer at the piano performing the theme from the show began running on Korean media this week. The Man Who Laughs is Wildhorn's 12th musical to open in Seoul. Based on Victor Hugo's novel, the romantic melodrama is credited with inspiring the comic book figure The Joker, based on the character, Gwynplaine.

Her legal team is flailing and her accuser is formidable. Should she cop a plea? Or take a long shot for justice?

Harriet, Prisoner of the State, and We, the drowned each stand a chance of winning 150,000 for further development. The nominations serve as an acknowledgement of Operadagen Rotterdam's growing role as a co-producer and its enthusiasm for investing in talented makers. The festival collaborates with experienced producing organisations on developing new performances and showing them to the public. The winner, partly decided by public vote, will be announced in June 2018. Voting is now open via the FEDORA website.

Erte was nicknamed 'the father of Art Deco', a soubriquet that he was not comfortable with but it unfortunately stuck. He was born into Russian aristocracy and his family tree can be traced back to the Tartar kahns. He was greatly influenced by books on Persian and Indian miniatures in his father's library and by his beloved Greek vases that he studied during frequent trips as a boy to the Hermitage Museum.

The 13th edition of Operadagen Rotterdam, the festival for contemporary opera and music theatre, runs from Friday 18 through Sunday 27 May 2018. Operadagen Rotterdam presents more than 100 performances in major theatres, unusual venues, and outdoor locations in Rotterdam. The festival theme for 2018 is heroism with fascinating stories about the trials and challenges of a hero's journey. Online ticket sales of the first performances have just started. On November 12, 2017, the Auditorium Theatre, The Theatre for the People, commemorates the 50th anniversary of its grand re-opening with A Golden Celebration of Dance, a one-night-only mixed repertory program featuring dancers from the world's premier dance companies: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, Dutch National Ballet, Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Joffrey Ballet, MOMIX, New York City Ballet, Parsons Dance, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, and The Washington Ballet. In addition, the evening will feature special performances by finalists from the Youth America Grand Prix, the next generation of great dancers.
