The Tisch School of the Arts at New York University announced a distinguished list of alumni will attend their 2012 gala, Ordinary Miraculous: Celebrating Vision, on April 19th at the New York Marriott Marquis. Those scheduled to participate so far include Tony Kushner, Chris Columbus, Martin Scorsese and Alec Baldwin.

The Tisch School of the Arts at New York University announced today a distinguished list of alumni will attend their annual gala, Ordinary Miraculous: Celebrating Vision, on April 19th at the New York Marriott Marquis. Those scheduled to participate so far include Martin Scorsese and Alec Baldwin. For the past two decades, Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell has served as a pioneer in arts education. This year's gala event will applaud her transformational leadership and celebrate the school's faculty, students and alumni.

The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Joey Parnes Interim Executive Director) has just announced the complete line-up for the third Public Forum event of the season, 'Does Culture Make Us Who We Are?' This dynamic evening, hosted by Anne Hathaway and in association with the Aspen Institute Arts Program, will feature noted author and New York Times columnist David Brooks; Dr. Mary Schmidt Campbell, the Dean of the Tisch School of the Arts and the Vice-Chair of the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities; Bill Irwin, acclaimed actor currently playing The Fool in The Public's production of King Lear; and Damian Woetzel, former principal dancer at New York City Ballet and the new Director of the Aspen Institute Arts Program. Davis, Eric Lockley, Jonathan McCrory, Kimberly Young, and Kisa Willis.] and directed/conceived by Jonathan McCrory. This play was developed through TMTC's Ladder Series in 2010 and since then it has toured in Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD and is excited to be presented in the lower east side before it heads back on the road.

A distinguished list of entertainers joined in honoring Tony Award® and Emmy Award® winning actor Billy Crystal, Class of 1970, at the Tisch School of Arts' annual gala, The Face of Tisch including Christina Bianco '03, The Bob Cantwell New Orleans Jazz Band, Seán Curran '84, James Franco '11, Whoopi Goldberg, Marcia Gay Harden '88, Isaiah Johnson '10, Jesse L. Martin '91, Krysta Rodriguez '06, Paul Shaffer, Noah Weisberg '98, and Robin Williams. The event was held on Monday, December 6th at the renowned Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Hope Speaks, the ?rst New York City based collaborative multimedia piece chronicling the historic election of President Barack Obama using excerpts from 32 personal accounts from community leaders such as Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell, Sandra Bowie, Legendary Actors André DeShields and Tina Shephard, Scholars Bob Vorlicky and Awam Amkpa and Reverend LaKeesha Walrond, premieres January 22 & 23 as a part of the Ladder Series presented by The Movement Theatre Company.
