With only a month until Songbook Academy 2023, the Great American Songbook Foundation has revealed a national sponsorship and a cast of Broadway stars and other entertainment professionals to serve as guest mentors at its 14th annual music intensive for the nation’s top high school singers.

The American Pops Orchestra (APO) presents the semi-final round of its 6th Annual NextGen National Competition: Finding the Voices of Tomorrow. Out of hundreds of auditions coming from 103 colleges and 34 different states, 30 talented college students were chosen to compete in the semifinals!

Founded by three Texas natives, Bridge Arts Project is a training and mentorship program that cultivates the potential of emerging artists nationwide. BAP inspires creativity across all artistic media by providing exceptional individuals access to top industry professionals.

On Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12, Mercy For Animals will host a virtual concert featuring an inspiring lineup of more than 30 musicians. The artists include Grammy Award winner Joss Stone; Latin Grammy winner Sie7e; Broadway stars Ryan McCartan (Frozen), and more!

Direct from the highly successful production of Love Never Dies in Hamburg, Germany, Gardar Thor Cortes will portray the man behind the mask, 'The Phantom,' with Meghan Picerno as 'Christine Daae,' Karen Mason as 'Madame Giry,' Sean Thompson as 'Raoul,' Mary Michael Patterson as 'Meg Giry,' and Casey Lyons and Jake Heston Miller sharing the role of 'Gustave.' The trio of Phantom's henchmen include Katrina Kemp as 'Fleck,' Richard Koons as 'Squelch,' Stephen Petrovich as 'Gangle,' Gardar Thor Cortes is appearing with the permission of Actors' Equity Association.  The Producers gratefully acknowledge Actors' Equity Association for its assistance of this production.

Broadway's longest running musical, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA has a sequel and this week it is in Orlando. With music written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, one would hope that the mysteries from the original finally resolve themselves. With every fiber of my being, I wanted to like this show; however, this production left me shaking my head.

LOVE NEVER DIES: The Phantom Returns is very high on my list to see. Based off a sequel novel, The Phantom of Manhattan by Frederick Forsyth, LOVE NEVER DIES continues the luxurious love story that will be soon celebrating 30 years on Broadway.

AMERICAN IDOL's Eric Anthony Lopez (currently in THE JACKIE MASON MUSICAL Off-Broadway) and Mary Michael Patterson (most recently in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA on Broadway) have teamed up to record Lopez's original song 'Angels Sing' as a tribute to those who have lost there lives in the September 11th attacks.
