Ken Ludwig's comedy LEND ME A TENOR began previews on Friday March 12 and opened last night on April 4. at Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

The Consortium of Theatre Programs at Brown University is proud to announce the first ever Writing is Live, a festival of new work featuring eight plays by writers in Brown's graduate programs.

The 67th Golden Globe Awards were broadcast live on NBC last night from the Beverly Hilton. The awards ceremony was seen in more than 160 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span both television and motion picture achievements. Winners of this year's awards include GLEE for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical, Meryl Streep for 'Julie & Julia', Michael C. Hall for 'Dexter', Alec Baldwin for '30 Rock', John Lithgow for his role on 'Dexter', Christoph Waltz for 'Inglourious Basterds', and HBO's 'Grey Gardens'.

NINE will have a limited release on December 18th in New York and Los Angeles and will then go on wide release on December 25th. The film had its official New York premiere at the Ziegefeld Theatre in New York City on December 15, 2009.

2009 Tony Award host Neil Patrick Harris will appear in two upcoming films; 'Beastly' and 'The Best and the Brightest' according to the Hollywood Reporter. Harris will film the two pictures during the summer hiatus from his CBS comedy 'How I Met Your Mother'.

Comic, former child star, outspoken activist, and TV Land Award winner ALISON ARNGRIM makes her annual return to New York with CONFESSIONS OF A PRAIRIE BITCH for one performance only, Sunday, May 10 (Mother's Day) at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.

The Independent Film 2009 Spirit Awards were given out last night Saturday, February 21 in Los Angeles and The Wrestler was a big winner, nabbing Best Film and Best Actor for star Mickey Rourke. Other acting awards went to Melissa Leo for Best Actress for Frozen River, James Franco won best supporting actor for Milk, while Penelope Cruz snagged a best supporting win for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Woody Allen earned a Best Screenplay award for the film as well.
