Playhouse on the Square present the winner of the 2021NewWorks@TheWorks national playwriting competition, SHANKTOWN by Mary Donnet Johnson, running July 8 – July 24 at TheatreWorks@TheSquare.
Circuit Playhouse, Inc., the organization that includes The Circuit Playhouse, TheatreWorks @ the Square, and Playhouse on the Square will celebrate 55 years of professional live theatre in Memphis’ Performing Arts District – Overton Square.
Playhouse on the Square, in partnership with Sue and Frank Guarino, have announced the staged readings for this year's competition finalists. Streamed live via Zoom, the six readings will take place on the Playhouse on the Square main stage, December 6-8 & December 13-15 at 7:00 pm.
NASHVILLE STORY GARDEN an incubator of original theatre, film and new media projects will be presenting SHE/HER/HERS: 5 One-Act World Premiere plays featuring female leads on THURSDAY, JANUARY 17th at THE CORDELLE (45 Lindsley Ave, Downtown). The evening will also be accompanied with performances by singer/actor MEGAN MURPHY CHAMBERS, making SHE/HER/HERS a special night celebrating the community and artistry of women in Music City.
