Brooklyn-based Americana duo The Brother Brothers have released the second single from their forthcoming debut album, Some People I Know, out October 19 onCompass Records. Relix premiered 'Mary Ann' today, noting the band's 'natural harmonies and evocative lyricism that reflect a timeless sound and spirit.' Today's release follows 'Frankie,' which Billboard praised for its 'soulful folk' and Spotify selected to feature on its tastemaking playlists, Fresh Folk and New Music Friday. 

Third Eye Theatre Ensemble celebrates their fifth season with Paula M. Kimper's Patience & Sarah: A Pioneering Love Story at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont, October 5th-October 21st. Set in Connecticut in the winter of 1816, the opera tells the powerful story of two young women who meet, fall in love, and resolve to devote their lives to each other.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is thrilled to announce that singer/songwriter Amanda McBroom will return to the historic club on September 10th 2018 with "My Favorite Things- Songs I've Longed to Sing.' The selections include words and music from the likes of Annie LaMott, Stephen Sondheim, Fran Landesman, Cole Porter, Jacques Brel, Michele Brourman, and, naturally, McBroom herself. The evening promises to be one to calm the jitters, raise the hackles, and hopefully heal the heart. Showtime is 7:30pm. The historic jazz venue Birdland, which has embraced the diversity of cabaret performing in recent years is located at 315 West 44TH ST. between 8th and 9th Avenues.

Artistic Director Rick Dildine and Executive Director Todd Schmidt have announced their inaugural New Festival Season at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, which features 14 extraordinary productions, with a full six weeks of spring repertory along with unexpected theatrical experiences in found spaces.

The Seattle Art Fair, presented by AIG, is pleased to announce an additional installation by legendary conceptual artist Chris Burden has been added to this year's on-site programming. Presented by Gagosian, Burden's 1983 work Scale Model of the Solar System invites fairgoers and the local Seattle community on a fun, artistic scavenger hunt around the city. The artwork will be on view during the fair's run from August 2-5 at CenturyLink Field and beyond. 

The CINCINNATI ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns to Know Theatre for its fourth year. The marathon evening of one-minute plays by nearly 40 of Cincinnati's established and emerging playwrights and directors plays three nights only, Monday, August 5th, Tuesday August 6th, & Wednesday August 7th at Know Theatre (1120 Jackson St, Cincinnati, OH, 45202).

The Barrington Stage Company has been the place where countless great voices and theatre luminaries have electrified audiences. Last night one it was one of Broadway's finest on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage for the 2018 Barrington Stage Company Gala.

There are shows that I believe get rave reviews, awards, and heralded as classics because, at some point, "true theatre people" aren't allowed to not like them. If you bring up Oklahoma, Hello, Dolly, or The Sound of Music, and don't fawn over it for hours, you are expected to turn in your theatre card and walk away from all conversations thereafter. My Fair Lady, as a musical, falls into this category for me.

Anne and Robert, who last went head-to-head in the show's second season in 2011, each lead a team of kitchen-challenged competitors though a grueling seven-episode culinary boot camp competition designed to improve their food skills. In the finale on Sunday, September 23 rd at 9pm, the one contestant who demonstrates the most impressive culinary transformation is awarded $25,000 and bragging rights for their mentor.
