The One Minute Play Festival Returns To Cincinnati

The CINCINNATI ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns to Know Theatre for its fourth year. The marathon evening of one-minute plays by nearly 40 of Cincinnati's established and emerging playwrights and directors plays three nights only, Monday, August 5th, Tuesday August 6th, & Wednesday August 7th at Know Theatre (1120 Jackson St, Cincinnati, OH, 45202).

There are shows that I believe get rave reviews, awards, and heralded as classics because, at some point, "true theatre people" aren't allowed to not like them. If you bring up Oklahoma, Hello, Dolly, or The Sound of Music, and don't fawn over it for hours, you are expected to turn in your theatre card and walk away from all conversations thereafter. My Fair Lady, as a musical, falls into this category for me.

Chef Robert Irvine returns to battle Chef Anne Burrell in a much-anticipated Worst Cooks in America rematch beginning Sunday, August 12 th at 9pm ETPT, where the renowned chefs whip a roster of disastrous cooks into tip-top shape. Anne and Robert, who last went head-to-head in the show's second season in 2011, each lead a team of kitchen-challenged competitors though a grueling seven-episode culinary boot camp competition designed to improve their food skills. In the finale on Sunday, September 23 rd at 9pm, the one contestant who demonstrates the most impressive culinary transformation is awarded $25,000 and bragging rights for their mentor.

George London Foundation For Singers Announces 2018-19 Season

The George London Foundation for Singers has been honoring, supporting, and presenting the finest young opera singers in the U.S. and Canada since 1971. The foundation and the George London Awards (the prize of the foundation's annual competition) are named for the legendary Canadian-American bass-baritone, one of the greatest opera singers of 20th century, who devoted much of his time and energy in his later years to the support and nurturing of young opera singers.

Shane Owens Releases New Project IT'S A SOUTHERN THING Today

Country artist Shane Owens has released his latest musical project, It's A Southern Thing. It contains six tunes consistent with Owens' traditional country sound with a modern edge, and includes his hit single, “Lie,” which garnered positive reviews from outlets such as Billboard and Rolling Stone Country. It's A Southern Thing can be purchased or streamed here. Dorset Theatre Festival Presents 2018 SUMMER STARS CELEBRATION GALA

Dorset Theatre Festival is celebrating the Festival's 41st season with the 2018 Summer Stars Celebration Gala honoring Trustee Rick Jackson. The Gala will take place at 6:00 P.M. on July 8th at the Old Gray Barn (1582 VT Route 30, Rupert, VT 05768) and will feature music by the Roadside Blues Band, a special guest performance by international concert and recording artist Maxine Linehan, and a live auction.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) announces the casting for the first production of the 2018 Nutmeg Summer Series: 'Disaster!', the hilarious new musical straight from Broadway. CRT welcomes the co-writing team of the show, as Jack Plotnick will direct and three-time Emmy Award nominee and SiriusXM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky will reprise the role he originated on Broadway (Ted Schneider).
