Parks & Recreation Commissioner Adrian Benepe joined some of the City's greenest at the 20th Annual Parks & Recreation Awards ceremony on March 11, 2010. Top honors included Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, the W. Allison & Elizabeth Stubbs Davis Award, the Thomas Stofka Award, Employee of the Year, and the Commissioner's Award.

On Monday, March 15, Dine in Brooklyn, an initiative of Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and Best of Brooklyn, Inc., will officially kick off eleven days of more than 200 Brooklyn restaurants serving up three-course dinner menus for just $25, three-course lunches for $20.10 and even some 'two for the price of one' deals at participating restaurants (list below).

On Tuesday, March 2, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz hosted a press 'tasting' at Brooklyn Borough Hall to officially announce the seventh annual 'Dine in Brooklyn' event (March 15 - March 25) featuring nearly 200 of Brooklyn's best eateries serving up three-course dinner menus for just $25, three-course lunches for $20.10 and even some 'two for the price of one' deals at participating restaurants (list below).

Brooklyn's Brave New World Repertory Theatre is bringing the Bard to the Boardwalk in September with two open air performances of The Tempest by William Shakespeare to be staged on the Coney Island beachfront. Two thousand folding chairs will be provided FREE of charge for audience members on the section of boardwalk adjacent to the Aquarium Education building at 10th Street, which the New York Aquarium is donating for the actors' dressing rooms.
