The new Washinton D.C.-based arts collective force/collision has announced two upcoming shows, THE NAUTICAL YARDS from April 26-29 and SHAPE Septemeber 20 to October 6 in D.C. and then in New York at La Mama ETC November 10-18.

The Theatre @ Boston Court announces PLAY/ground, the annual New Play Festival December 10-11, 2011 at Boston Court Performing Arts Center in Pasadena, CA. Literary Managers Aaron Henne and Emilie Beck, in concert with Artistic Directors Jessica Kubzansky and Michael Michetti, have selected five plays to be presented as staged readings in the Marjorie Branson Performance Space.

The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, is accepting submissions for the fifth annual Smith Prize. Funded by a gift from writer Timothy Jay Smith and a group of socially conscious donors, The Smith Prize is awarded to a full-length, non-musical political play that illuminates issues that can only be dealt with at the national or global level, even if the story is told from an individual perspective.
