Kenneth Branagh recently confirmed that plans for a collaboration with Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese on a new film version of MACBETH are moving forward. Now The Daily Mail writes that the director will film the project at an old World War II airfield at Leavesden, Hertfordshire, in order to capture the look and feel of the original stage production -- helmed by Branagh and Rob Ashford -- for Manchester two years ago.

The NYU Tisch School of the Arts annual gala honoring Michael C. Hall, Steven Lutvak and Robert L. Freedman, with a special tribute to Mel Silverman, was held last night, May 4, at the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall. The evening was hosted by Anna Deavere Smith and featured special presenters Tyne Daly, and Winnie Holzman. The gala performance, directed by Bill Castellino, celebrated the incredible accomplishments of Tisch students, both past and present. According to the Daily Mail, Kenneth Branagh's ROMEO AND JULIET has found its 'Mercutio' in Sir Derek Jacobi, who appeared alongside the play's star cross'd lovers -- Lily James and Richard Madden -- in Branagh's new CINDERELLA film. ROMEO AND JULIET is Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company's fourth production in its inaugural season at the Garrick, beginning October 17.

Tangent Theatre Company Extends LOBBY HERO Through 5/3

Tangent Theatre Company, based in the intimate Carpenter Shop Theater in Tivoli's village center, announces a fifth week of performances for their Spring 2015 production: the contemporary moral drama Lobby Hero by Kenneth Lonergan. The play will now run through Sunday, May 3. Set in a Manhattan apartment building lobby, the story examines the shades of grey between right and wrong, and centers on the main character, Jeff, the building's security guard, and three other diverse characters, including Jeff's supervisor William and two New York City police officers (Bill and Dawn). Remaining performances of Lobby Hero are Thursdays - Saturdays 8pm; Sundays 3pm.
