As the sole pantomime in Bristol, Aladdin (from pantomime giants Qdos Entertainment) has a lot resting on its shoulders for families this festive season. For some, Christmas at the theatre means panto and they're unlikely to feel short changed by this big budget offering.

The Bristol Hippodrome is delighted to announce that comedy legend Joe Pasquale, recording and musical theatre star Marti Pellow and Emmerdale and Coronation Street's Hayley Tamaddon will lead the cast in this year's magical family pantomime Aladdin, from Today 9 December 2017.

Beginning next month, a host of stars from the world of entertainment will light up the stages in thirty-five theatres around the UK for this year's Qdos Entertainment pantomime season.

Stage musical Witches of Eastwick was adapted from John Updike's novel of the same name thirteen years after the film was released in 1987- starring Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer. The show opened in London to mixed reviews but since then has been performed internationally. The last time it was seen professionally in this country was on the 2008 UK tour, starring Marti Pellow - a production I was fortunate enough to see.

Birmingham Hippodrome's smash-hit pantomime Aladdin closes on 31 January following a spectacular six week run of 74 performances. With over 118,000 admissions, Aladdin becomes the theatre's best-selling pantomime in 14 years.

Stars of theatre and screen take to the stage next month for this year's gilt-edged line-up of Qdos Entertainment pantomimes, 24 of which will come to life across the UK this winter.
