Together, this cohort of institutionsa?"which includes the Apollo Theater; The Juilliard School; La MaMa Experimental Theatre Company; The Laundromat Project; The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Museum of the Moving Image; National Sawdust; New York University (Department of Photography and Imaging, Tisch School of the Arts; Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity and Strategic Innovation; and Institute of African American Affairs & Center for Black Visual Culture); and Urban Bush Womena?"is commissioning one hundred artists who self-identify as women to respond to this significant anniversary.

This winter and spring, Joe's Pub a?" a program and venue of The Public Theater a?" is honoring new voices in musical theater through a variety of shows. ART's Executive Director David J. Roberts and Creative Director Raelle Myrick-Hodges today announced the line-up for the renowned Brooklyn-based organization's Winter-Spring schedule part of its 2019-2020 Season. Lincoln Center's David Rubenstein Atrium is marking a decade as home to free, eclectic performances and public gathering space. (Globe and Mail), Trace is a highly kinetic contemporary dance work influenced by Anishinaabe sky and star stories, offering a glimpse into Indigenous origins. The U.S. premiere of Trace is the centerpiece of The Land On Which We Dance, a landmark gathering of Indigenous dance and culture at Jacob's Pillow, curated by Sandra Laronde in association with Hawaiian dancer/choreographer Christopher K. Morgan and Massachusetts-based Nipmuc Elder Larry Spotted Crow Mann. 

The Colorado New Play Festival announces full casting for all five readings for the 2019 season. The 22nd Annual Festival, to be held on June 2-8, 2019 in Steamboat Springs, CO, will develop five new works in partnership with City Theatre Company, Curious Theatre Company, The Public Theater, South Coast Repertory and Steppenwolf Theatre.

On Sunday, May 19 at 7:30 p.m., New Yorkers of all ages will take the Zankel Hall stage for Soul Mechanism: A Concert Celebrating the Music of Migrations, a special evening that marks the culmination of a citywide creative learning project. Led by celebrated performer Toshi Reagon and a band made up of longtime collaborators, the concert will showcase original songs written by New Yorkers in a performance featuring American roots songstress Martha Redbone, jazz and gospel vocalist Lizz Wright, singer-songwriter and filmmaker Be Steadwell, activist-artist Taina Asili, Sudanese singer Alsarah Elgadi, and other special guest artists.
