However, she has managed to sabotage every princess that comes along with impossible tests!

Theater Works brings a grand collaboration between MasterWorks and YouthWorks for the musical comedy Once Upon a Mattress, a hilarious retelling of The Princess and the Pea. The original Broadway production marked the debut of Carol Burnett, who originated the role of Princess Winnifred.

WHAT do you get when you mix one pea, 20 mattresses and a princess-to-be named Fred? A raucous, romantic and melodic spin on the Hans Christian Andersen classic The Princess and the Pea, playing at the Koorliny Arts Centre this April.

The moment I walked into the dining room at Feinstein's/54 Below, where Summertime Swing played through September 1 a fashionably dressed gentleman greeted me with, 'It's a fantastic show.' The packed house was already alive with thrilling enthusiasm as they eagerly waited for the show to start. When you attend a show headlined by a golden age cabaret great and a prolific 'music revivalist' who happens to have the venue named for him, you come expecting to be no less than entertained. Summertime Swing elevated the art of summer entertainment tenfold--- a tribute to anything we could hope for in the last days of summer.

Also featured were Joseph Bova, Allen Case, Jack Gilford and Matt Mattox. Jane White played the role of Queen Aggravain, becoming the first African-American actress to portray a white character on the Broadway stage.

Vocalist BJ Ward and pianist Simon Wallace return to London's The Crazy Coqs on March 21st 2016 at 8pm to perform the music of the late Marshall Barer.

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, opens its second production of their 8th season with the zany musical Once Upon a Mattress. The production will perform at GCT at 7pm on February 26, March 11, 12, 18 and 19, and also at 2pm on February 27, 28, March 6 and 13.
