The Players, the city's most fabled private social club for actors and artists, just presented its inaugural Helen Hayes Award to Barbara Cook, the musical theatre legend who is widely considered one of the twentieth century's best interpreters of the Great American Songbook, at a gala ceremony yesterday.

The Tony and Olivier Award-winning Broadway and television star Alan Cumming's critically-acclaimed touring show, ALAN CUMMING SINGS SAPPY SONGS, comes to PBS tonight, November 18 at 9:00 -10:00 p.m. ET, as part of the sixth annual PBS ARTS FALL FESTIVAL.

The complete memoirs of playwright Neil Simon will be released today, November 8th, by Simon & Schuster, featuring a new introduction by Nathan Lane and afterword by Simon's wife Elaine Joyce.
