Doubleday Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children's Books, has acquired a never-before-published Mark Twain children's story, it was announced today by Mallory Loehr, Senior Vice President & Publisher of the Random House/Golden Books, Doubleday, and Crown Books for Young Readers Group. The story, a fairy tale left unfinished by Twain, will be brought to life by author Philip Stead and illustrator Erin Stead, the creators of the Caldecott Medal–winning A Sick Day for Amos McGee. The book, THE PURLOINING OF PRINCE OLEOMARGARINE, was acquired and edited by Frances Gilbert, Associate Publishing Director, Random House Books for Young Readers, from Tina Wexler at ICM, representing the Mark Twain House & Museum, and Emily van Beek at Folio Jr., representing the author/illustrator team.

Tony Award Nominee Daniel Jenkins (Oslo, Kid Victory, Big River, Mary Poppins) and Drama Desk Nominee Melissa van der Schyff (Big River, Bonnie & Clyde) are teaming up to perform at Le Poisson Rouge (LPR) in a creatively refreshing concert, 'BORROWED CASH: BUSTED! The Reunion Tour' on Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22 at 8:00 PM. The concert - performed completely in alter ego, blending comedy and documentary film within a live rock and blues concert setting - is directed by Gina Rattan (Matilda, Cinderella) with Jesse Weiner serving as music director and arranger. 

San Francisco Opera General Director Matthew Shilvock and Music Director Nicola Luisotti today announced plans for the 2017-18 repertory season. Walnut Street Theatre's 2016-2017 Independence Studio on 3 season continues with one of Neil Simon's funniest plays, Last of the Red Hot Lovers. Philadelphia audiences will be the first to see this production before it becomes the seventh national tour of a Walnut Street Theatre production. Directed by Adam Immerwahr, Last of the Red Hot Lovers begins previews in Philadelphia on January 10th, opens January 12th and continues through February 5th. This production is part of a double feature of Simon's work at the Walnut, as Laughter on the 23rd Floor will begin performances the on the Mainstage on January 17th.

Matrix Theatre Company continues its 2016 - 2017 Mainstage Season with the professional world premiere of Abbey Fenbert's satirical comedy, Intentions, opening February 3 and running through February 26. The production runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM. All performances are presented at Matrix Theatre Company, located at 2730 Bagley Avenue in the heart of Mexicantown.
