St. Louis based, Emery Entertainment, in collaboration with Jack Lane, (Executive Producer of STAGES St. Louis) is excited to announce the re-opening of the Playhouse @ Westport Plaza with an all-new season of stage productions. The season will kick off with the longest running solo play in Broadway's history, Rob Becker's Defending the Caveman starring Las Vegas entertainer of the year Kevin Burke, running four weeks beginning September 30.

Lynn Henderson delighted a small but enthusiastic audience at Don't Tell Mama in the final performance of her new show, T'AIN'T NOBODY'S BIZNESS IF I DO! With musical director Douglas J. Cohen, a multi-award winning songwriter (including a Drama Desk Award nomination and the Noel Coward Prize), and bass player Bob Sabin (himself the winner of numerous jazz awards, who sits on the music faculty both at the prestigious Hunter College High School and NYU), the veteran big band, choral, and lounge singer combined material from her 2014 CD, If We Only Have Love, with classics from the Great American Songbook (George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Kander and Ebb, among others). Ably directed by 10-time MAC Award winner Barry Kleinbort, the show also included more contemporary material by Billy Joel, Jerry Herman, and Randy Newman.

An exibition of male nudes by artist Evan Oberholster is currently running in the parlour room at Alexander Bar, in tandem with the delightful new play premiering at the Cape Town Fringe, the comedy The Finkelsteins are Coming to Dinner, which will also be transferring to Alexander Upstairs after Fringe.

New Hampshire Theatre Project (NHTP) is launching its 28th season at the West End Studio Theatre (WEST) on 959 Islington Street-its "new" home. While NHTP has been a resident company at WEST since 1984, only as of this July 1 has it become the sole tenant of the space.

Now celebrating its 39th Season, Pontine Theatre, a resident company at Strawbery Banke Museum, announces its 2016-17 Performance Series.  Some productions will be presented on the campus of Strawbery Banke Museum and others at select locations in the Greater Seacoast community.  Pontine's season is supported by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.  

Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble (PSYWE) is in the business of making not only music but also dreams come true, as the group enters its 10th anniversary season in 2016-17-culminating in a nine-day international tour next summer! Regarded as one of the few premier youth wind symphonies in the nation, PSYWE, an 81-piece band made up of woodwind, brass and percussion students in grades 8-12, flies off on July 4-12, 2017.

The Players, the city's most fabled private social club for actors and artists, will present its inaugural Helen Hayes Award to Barbara Cook, the musical theatre legend who is widely considered one of the twentieth century's best interpreters of the Great American Songbook, at a gala ceremony tonight, September 15th.
