East and West meet in LIGHT IN THE DARK: CHEKHOV SHORTS. The evening begins with 'Swan Song' (1887), about an alcoholic actor and a prompter who get locked into a theater overnight. The prompter is left to ease the actor's woes about a life wasted in pursuit of art.

Shakespeare's Hamlet will be turned into a 3D musical as part of Shakespeare 4 Kidz's new movie series. S4K's Hamlet in 3D will be the first of a series of six movie adaptations of the musical versions of the Bard's plays originally created by the acclaimed UK theatre company Shakespeare 4 Kidz.

Stage and television actor Lane Davies will star as Professor Henry Higgins in Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady, the season opening production of Smyrna's Lamplighters Theatre.

The Menier Chocolate Factory will continue its tradition of stand-up comedy with performances from Phil Nichol and Charles Fleischer. Nichol and Fleischer follow in the footsteps of Bill Bailey, Marcus Brigstocke, Jason Byrne, Rhona Cameron, Patrick Kielty, Jeremy Lyon and Mark Thomas, who have all previously performed to packed houses at the Chocolate Factory.
