Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) opens its Spring 2018 Music Series with Anton Batagov and the Attacca Quartet on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 7:30pm in the Jerome Robbins Theater. This varied evening of music features the World Premiere of Different Things from influential post-minimalist Russian composer and pianist Anton Batagov, paired with Beethoven's String Quartet Op. 18, No. 6. Batagov's Different Things will be performed by the composer (at the piano) and the Attacca Quartet, one of America's premier young string ensembles, along with Kris Saebo, double bass; Linda Jones, soprano; Luthien Brackett, mezzo soprano; Andrew Fuchs, tenor; and Steven Hrycelak, bass.

St phane Den ve will conduct the New York Philharmonic in an all-Prokofiev program featuring the Violin Concerto No. 1, with James Ehnes as soloist; selections from Romeo and Juliet; and The Love for Three Oranges Suite, Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, January 27 at 8:00 p.m.

Irish Arts Center (IAC), the arts and cultural center dedicated to projecting a dynamic image of Ireland and Irish America for the 21st century, announces its Spring 2018 lineup, featuring a characteristically wide range of theatrical, musical, dance, literary, podcast, interdisciplinary and educational events.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Spring 2018 Music Series, which runs January through April and features an eclectic lineup of premieres and performances by international musicians. Geoff Sobelle's large-scale performance work HOME explores the relationship between house and home, running tonight, December 6, through December 10, 2017, at BAM's Harvey Theater.

Last night, Michael R. Bloomberg hosted a gala dinner at Gotham Hall celebrating this year's Bloomberg 50, a new, annual, initiative honoring 50 icons and innovators who have changed the global business landscape in measurable ways over the past year. BAM presents the New York premiere of Haruki Murakami's Sleep, from Brooklyn-based theater company Ripe Time in their Next Wave debut, running tonight, November 29, through December 2, 2017.

Rumpke Mountain Boys + Rapidgrass will play the Fox Theatre on March 15, 2018.

On Today, November 16, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the Machine Shop in Minneapolis, The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music Series presents Emily Wells' The World Is Too ______ For You with violinist/composer Michi Wiancko, percussionist Greg Fox and musicians of the SPCO, including violinist Francisco Fullana. This world premiere was commissioned by the SPCO's Liquid Music Series.

Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, today announced programming for the BAM 2018 Winter/Spring Season.
