Hotshot dance collective, LA Dance Project makes its Philadelphia headline debut January 12-13

Recently-founded by Paris Opera Ballet director and former New York City Ballet principal Benjamin Millepied, L.A. Dance Project makes its Philadelphia headline debut. This hotshot collective, called "attractive, impressive, versatile" by The New York Times, has already turned heads with its fresh vision of contemporary dance and eclectic repertory.

This unique chamber music experience provides a deeper look into rich, fruitful, multifaceted dialogue between jazz and classical music and a genre-blurring exploration into new worlds of improvisation. Get a drink, grab a seat up close, and settle in for an interactive performance as members of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia play in the round. WRTI Jazz Host Bob Craig, will provide background and insight on each work and lead conversations with the musicians between pieces. The performance concludes with a casual audience Q&A.

The Annenberg Center's 2017-18 Season

The Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' 2017-18 season, the first under the leadership of Executive and Artistic Director Christopher A. Gruits, features a return to a full dance series of six dance ensembles; premiere theatrical productions; musical artists from diverse genres including jazz, world music, classical and hip-hop; a three-week Cuba Festival, and family and holiday programming. Four world premieres and nine Philadelphia premieres will take place on the Annenberg Center's stages and six artists or companies will make their Philadelphia debuts. The Annenberg Center launches its inaugural artist residency with renowned choreographer Mark Morris and a new residency partnership with The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.
