Pew Center for Arts & Heritage Funds Nine Outstanding Dance Projects

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through Dance Advance has awarded a total of $929,000 to nine outstanding and adventurous dance projects. The grantees represent four dance companies, two presenting organizations, and three individual artists.

LA Master Chorale Presents All-British concert 1/30

The Los Angeles Master Chorale explores England's grand choral tradition through the ages with 'London Bridges,' an all-British program conducted by Music Director Grant Gershon featuring the music of William Byrd, Judith Weir, John Tavener and Benjamin Britten, as well as a selection of English madrigals, on Sunday, January 30, 2011, 7:00 p.m., at Disney Hall. Lesley Leighton, appointed Assistant Conductor of the chorus in July 2010, makes her Los Angeles Master Chorale conducting debut leading Hymn to St. Cecelia, one of two Britten works to be spotlighted. Organist Paul Meier is the guest artist.

Houston Ballet Features CINDERELLA, GISELLE, et al. in 2011

Houston Ballet Artistic Director Stanton Welch has announced the company's 2011-2012 season. Four new works enter Houston Ballet's repertoire, including world premieres by Stanton Welch in March 2012 and Nicolo Fonte in May 2012, company premiere of Mark Morris's Drink to Me Only with Thine Eyes, as well as a new staging of Giselle by the Kirov-trained dancer Ai-Gul Gaisina in September 2011.

Cumming, Fleming, et al. Featured in Harris Theatre's 2011 Season

Building on the success of its popular and critically acclaimed fall 2010 season, the Harris Theater for Music and Dance continues its seventh season this spring with a collection of adventurous and innovative performances by an array of the world's most renowned artists, musicians, and dance companies, many of whom are making their Harris Theater debuts. Chicago's finest music and dance organizations will also be featured with an exciting selection of events.

FringeTALK Kicks Off FringeNYC 15th Anniversary Season 1/9

In 2011, The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) celebrates its fifteenth anniversary. To mark the occasion, on Sunday, January 9, the first of many special events will be offered: FringeTALK, a live-streamed town hall event during which anyone from anywhere in the world can ask anything about the festival via Twitter or Facebook and/or our built in chat room.
